We all have our vices. The key is to see our vices as either medicine or poison. Is the vice helping you heal, or is it further burying the root problem? Sometimes our medicines swing the pendulum over to poison. But here’s the ticket. Even when you’re “in” the poison - if you’re conscious about it - you’re learning. Here’s a permission slip to do so. You are human. You can do all the binge, cheat days, diet plays and nightmare games in your head until you reach that real answer.Read More
A dialogue I have had with quite a few clients in the last years. “If there’s no junk food in the house - I won’t eat it.” “If there’s __________(sugar, pastries, chips, pop etc) in front of me, I can’t help but overeat it.” “I can’t NOT eat sugar!” But take a deep look at these statements. None of them are actually real! These are all choices we make. Read this blog to find out how to step away from the belief that food controls you and you ‘can’t help’ but eat it when its around.Read More

Most of my clients come to me because they have very similar problems. Simply put, food stresses them out. It's wearing out their energy. A lot of time we waffle on our nutrition decisions, or we make a decision because "I've already really messed it all up today" or "I think I'll just exercise more tomorrow to make up for this" or some other crazy mind game. Did you ever notice how the fruits and vegetables at your grocery store all kind of look the same?

Meal plans are what people think nutritionists' do for a living and I have a bit of a problem with them. When people ask me for a meal plan, my first question is always "Why?"

Winter is a powerful time - a time to conserve our energy and resources. Special care needs to be taken in the form of nutrition, warmth and rest. Winter is a more inward and sensitive time. The climates of cold and wet (rain, snow, fog) chill us and require us to seek extra warmth and home time. It is even a time when some of us feel sad (heard of the blues?) which can be connected to loss of loved ones around Christmas time, less healthy food, or less sunshine. Oh right - the winter blah's.Read More
