Healthy Brownies [Recipe]

Is it possible to have a healthy brownie? Now it is.... and dear god, these are good. I mean, you-could-eat-a-whole-pan good. You'll definitely ask for more. The best thing is, these healthy brownies are made using whole foods, which means they have no additives or filler, and they won't mess with our blood sugars the way that store bought/packaged bakery brownies will.

In this case the term 'raw' simply means un-cooked. These brownies use ingredients that do not need to be baked together, simply using real foods. 

Healthy Raw Brownies

Base:

1 C walnuts

1 C pitted semi moist dates

1 c cocoa powder (for more nutrition a beautiful raw cacao works too)

 

Frosting:

2 Ripe avocados

½ c honey (I use 1/4 honey, 1/4 real maple syrup)

¼ c cocoa powder

2 tbsp coconut oil

1 tsp vanilla

dash of Sea salt and cinnamon

 

Directions

Process the base in food processor till well blended. Press into pan.

Blend 'frosting' until smooth, spread onto base, cool several hours or overnight in fridge.

 

Done! That's it! Yes seriously!

ENJOY the chocolatey goodness! Vegans can use a sweetener other than honey.
